5 Affordable Resin 3D Printer Accessories

Post Created By: Hunter

When I first started 3D printing I didn’t think it would be as intensive as it actually turns out to be. I honestly thought the printer itself did a majority of the work. What I didn’t know is that when it comes to resin printing the printing is only one part. Cleaning, curing, and sanding are just a few of the things that come with every single print. Having the right tools and accessories can make a world of difference. So what are the best 3D resin printer accessories? that’s a question I wish I would ask myself when I first started 3D printing. Now that I’ve been involved with 3D resin printing for a while I’ve come up with a handy list of some 3D resin printing accessories that you might consider getting for yourself.

Paper Towels

When I first started 3D printing I didn’t think it would be as intensive as it actually turns out to be. I honestly thought the printer itself did a majority of the work. What I didn’t know is that when it comes to resin printing the printing is only one part. Now that I’ve been involved with 3D resin printing for a while I’ve come up with a handy list of some 3D resin printing accessories that you might consider getting for yourself.

Microfiber Towels

Personally when it comes to cleaning the FEP film on my 3D printer I don’t use paper towels. instead I invested in a few disposable microfiber towels. after cleaning my resin tray I always wipe it down with a microfiber towel. It helps ensure a deeper clean while also preventing any scratches from occurring. The microfiber towels can be used on both sides of the FEP without any fear of harming the film

Salad Spinner

Whenever I have to clean my 3D resident prints and alcohol I prefer to soak them in a bath. This salad spinner is perfect for manually soaking and washing your prints in alcohol. It’s the perfect size for small and medium size resin prints and has an airtight lid to prevent smells from lingering. This is a must have 3D resin printing accessory. There are plenty of cleaning accessories that do the job much better but nothing beats the simplicity and the price of a salad spinner.

Sand Paper / Sanding Picks

Having sandpaper on hand is always better than needing sandpaper. Every 3D resin print will need some sort of sanding. Depending on how big or small your prints are you are going to need something appropriate to sand it down. Having sandpaper of different grits is great but sometimes you will need something smaller and more sturdy to get into smaller reach places. That’s why having sanding pics along with sandpaper is a great investment if you plan on smoothing out any of your 3D resin prints.

Reusable Gloves

Always be sure you are wearing gloves when handling resin. When I first started out I brought a pack of 100 disposable gloves and went through them in about a month. Instead of constantly buying disposable gloves and throwing them away immediately after they get soiled why not get yourself a pair of heavy duty reusable gloves. Not only are you helping save the environment by reducing your carbon footprint but reusable gloves tend to be more sturdy and comfortable especially when dealing with 3D resin printing. unlike disposable gloves just give them a quick rinse with alcohol after every use and put them aside for later.
